Woman killed in 3-car crash on Highway 79 in Lincoln County

A 60-year-old woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 79 at the Cuivre River Bridge on Tuesday, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Zola A. Rodey, 60, of Winfield, was killed when another car crossed the center lane of traffic and struck her car head-on.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol's crash report, a Dodge Ram was northbound on Highway 79 at about noon when it moved into the path of southbound cars, striking the Jeep Cherokee that Rodey was driving. The Dodge Ram then collided with a Ford Explorer, which sustained minor damage.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, a man in his 50s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. Rodey was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The collision shut down Highway 79 while emergency crews responded to the scene, according to Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper Juston Wheetley.
