Facebook Timeline available to all

Facebook's redesigned profile now is available to all users.

The revamped layout features a large "cover" photo at the top of profiles, and a scrapbook-style timeline view of likes, links, comments, photos and anything else shared on Facebook.

To switch to the new layout, go to Facebook's Timeline intro page and click on the green "Get Timeline" button. Users will have a seven-day grace period to review and edit what appears in their timeline; at the end of those seven days, the new profile will be live.

Users can limit the visibility of past posts — under privacy settings, select "manage past post visibility" to bulk-edit, or go through the posts in your timeline individually to edit who can see them. Users also can "feature" their Timeline posts (mouse over the top right of a post and click on the black star).

Timeline is not yet available for Facebook pages, only profiles.
