James Clark, Vice President of Public Safety for the Urban League, talks about the importance of this year's turkey giveaway and what people can do to help or receive help from the Urban League. The event was the 23rd annual turkey giveaway hosted by the Urban League. This year's event saw an upgrade due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Normally 2,000 turkeys would be handed out at the event but this year the Urban League handed out 6,000 turkeys between three different events. 3,500 of those were handed out in Florissant. Once it started flowing the line moved quickly with each car receiving a frozen turkey, a box full of fixings for side dishes and a stack of reusable face masks. Volunteers from throughout the community came out to help distribute the food. Video by Colter Peterson, cpeterson@post-dispatch.com
