It was courageous of Bruce Franks, who stepped down as a Missouri state representative due to “mental health issues and to tend to his family,” to admit in public that he has a mental health issue.
Those three words don’t often resonate well with the public, but it seems like political suicide when you’re an elected official.
You mentioned “tending to your family,” and said that this was a “step back,” but I disagree with that statement. You are going forward with your life and taking care of yourself. You have your priorities right: your family and your health. Remember, you can’t help others if you don’t take care of yourself. I’m proud of you and wish you the best physical and mental health while you take your steps forward.
