What criteria was used to conclude that McCluer High School is the third most dangerous high school in the area and the fourth most dangerous in the state? Incident reports indicate that this school has a zero tolerance policy for students who do not follow the rules, not that these students are dangerous.
I have had children attend McCluer for the past nine years. They went from Catholic grade school to McCluer High School and never felt that they were in danger. When my youngest graduates in two weeks, she will be the fourth generation in our family to do so from the Ferguson-Florissant School District. From her great-grandparents, who graduated from Vogt High School in the classes of 1934 and 1935, to her class of 2013, our family has been educated in the Ferguson-Florissant School District for 92 years!
It hurts me deeply that this "most dangerous school" designation will be taken as fact by readers of the Post-Dispatch.
