I am appalled by the coverage — TV and paper — or lack of coverage and the apparent sweeping under the rug of the murder of Zemir Begic ("Mayor, police say race had no role in bludgeoning," Dec. 2). Not racially motivated? Were the situation reversed, many people would be shouting racial motivation.
I also want to express my disgust at the careless remark by police spokeswoman Schron Jackson: "We think it was wrong place, wrong time." What a horrible, uncaring thing to say. I guess he should have expected four hammer-wielding murderers at 1 a.m. in his own neighborhood. Should we all?
