We now know that Sheila Sweeney, CEO of the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, and Gary Bess, the county’s parks director, misled the public concerning the proposed ice complex in Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park (Tony Messenger's column "County’s rink complex on thin ice," Sept. 1). They both knew that the grading work at the site was for the ice complex, yet responded to questions stating the work was for drainage. They both knew this was false.

Therefore, both should resign, and should they refuse, be removed and required to forfeit all earned retirement benefits.
