Right to work petitions

Boxes containing some of the more than 300,000 signatures needed to block Missouri's new right to work law from going into effect sit on carts in the Secretary of State's office in Jefferson City on Aug. 18, 2017.

I agree wholeheartedly with the editorial “Vote no on Prop A" (July 31). We have groups such as the Missouri Chamber of Commerce, Koch brothers, Rex Sinquefield and David Humphreys who push legislation and fund legislators who favor corporations over employees. Recently they pushed prevailing wage rejection, arbitration rather than courts, tort reform, easier removal of government employees, and refusal to increase minimum wage, all to help corporations.

Now we are told they love employees. In fact, in their attempt to destroy unions, they now call “right to work” by the new name, “worker freedom.”

Those gullible enough to believe they want worker freedom should vote yes on Tuesday. Those intelligent enough to see that this is another attempt to make employees more subservient to greedy corporate control should vote no.
