It never ceases to amaze me how the liberal press promotes immigration and abortion. The U.S. Senate just passed an immigration bill. Now the city of St. Louis and St. Louis County have come up with a new program to encourage immigrants to relocate to our area ("Group plans welcome mat for immigrants," June 24). They say that we need to increase our population to compete with other cities. I assume this includes illegal immigrants as well as legal immigrants.
Since the Roe v. Wade decision, think how many fetuses and babies have been destroyed. If abortion was not legal, we wouldn't need to import people from other countries. Multiply the fetuses and babies lost in the St. Louis area by all of the cities in the United States, and we would have 50 million additional homegrown residents.
Residents of our area should consider supporting new restrictions on abortion rather than supporting this new city and county program to attract new immigrants.
