Spend money on better housing instead of a stadium

Help, help! The sky is falling. It is comforting to know that Chicken Little is alive and well in St. Louis. The Rams may move to Los Angeles, and the world is coming to an end.

In response to this, St. Louis wants the city and state to help finance a new stadium to keep them here when the old one isn’t even paid for yet. The Rams say a new stadium is needed because the one they play in is outdated and they can’t be a winning team in it. It seems odd to me that there are high school teams that play in stadiums much older that the Edward Jones Dome and are producing champion teams. Some of these players go on to play in the NFL.

There are families living in houses that are older and more dilapidated than the stadium, and many homeless people that are living on the streets without housing. Instead of using the money to pay for a stadium, let’s use it to provide better housing.

Any politicians who vote to build a new stadium can count on their opponent getting my vote no matter what party they belong to. I would be willing to donate money to buy bus tickets to send the Rams out of town. I say bus tickets because they don’t deserve plane or train tickets.
