The stories in the Post-Dispatch are dealing with Iraq, feelings of Iraq veterans and the VA controversy.
Being a Vietnam veteran, I can relate to the frustration of what is going on in Iraq. It is a frustrated feeling. Asking yourself: Was it worth all what we did years ago in Iraq? We keep pulling out before the job is complete.
What do we do now? Before considering sending a son or daughter into another battle, ask ourselves: When he or she returns from a war, will we be ready to offer assistance from the VA?
Our country's leaders must show common sense when deciding what the U.S. can do for the people of Iraq and Afghanistan. Be concerned with American interests and not Middle East interests.
