Three unique courses in hospitality/housekeeping and manufacturing are open to 17 students. Full tuition funding is available.
The first course, a new partnership with Lyons Blow Molding in north St. Louis County, prepares students for full-time Packer positions. Lyons, a division of C.L. Smith, manufactures plastic bottles and containers using extrusion blow molding technology.
The second course, in partnership with Permian Plastics in O’Fallon, Mo., prepares students for full-time Secondary Operator positions. Permian is a plastic injection molding company that provides manufacturing services for healthcare, biotechnology, and other essential systems.
The third course, in partnership with Midas Hospitality, prepares students for full- or part-time Room Attendant positions at Midas properties in St. Charles and St. Louis Counties. Midas is a hotel development, management and investment firm that operates 11 area hotels including Marriott, Hilton, and IHG brands.
Students will learn all tasks needed for success in their future jobs. Students will also master various in-demand soft skills such as effective communication with supervisors and peers, time management, good work habits, and problem solving.
All three courses are eight weeks in length and could begin as early as late January or early February, depending on enrollment. After graduation, students will advance directly into competitive employment with minimum starting salaries ranging from $10.30-13.65 per hour.
