The League of Women Voters of Missouri (LWVMO), a non-partisan organization, supports the national League of Women Voters in calling for the immediate removal of Donald J. Trump from the office of President via any legal means, including and in order of preference: impeachment with disqualification, the invocation of the 25th amendment, or resignation.
“League members across the state and the country believe that any elected official who encourages insurrection should be removed from office, without regard to their political affiliation,” says LWVMO President Evelyn Maddox. “We believe that false claims of a fraudulent election by our President, Senator Josh Hawley and other Members of Congress who challenged the certification of the presidential election led to this week’s invasion of our Capitol. Their words and actions pose a serious threat to our democracy by disrupting the lawful electoral process outlined in our Constitution.”
