ST. LOUIS (Aug. 16, 2019) – After serving as the Interim CEO for the past three months, Caroline Schmidt was officially named President & CEO of Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas July 18, 2019.

 

Contributing to Make-A-Wish since 2010, Caroline has demonstrated robust leadership through multiple positions at Make-A-Wish, including:

 

o   Vice President of Program Services

o   Vice President of Operations

o   Chief Operating Officer

o   Served on Multiple Taskforces for Make-A-Wish® America

o   Medical Eligibility

o   Benchmarks of Excellence

o   Wish Taskforces

 

“I am honored to accept the role of President & CEO and humbled to work with such an incredible team of staff, board, volunteers and donors. I look forward to advancing our mission and moving our chapter forward to transform lives, one wish at a time,” said Schmidt.

The decision to appoint Caroline as CEO has been greatly supported by the members of the Make-A-Wish® Missouri & Kansas Governing Board.

Caroline has shown leadership through a 21st century approach by governance, accountability and collaboration. Additionally, Caroline has a strong history in strategic planning, corporate communication, outreach and operations. Her decisions made while in a leadership position have always been based on extensive research and internal data, along with experience and vision. While holding a certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership from IUPUI The Fundraising School, she also holds a bachelor’s degree of Science in Health and a Master of Business Administration.
