Spencer Fane Welcomes 3 Associate Attorneys

Spencer Fane LLP is pleased to announce the addition of three associate attorneys. Heather Hughes (Kansas City office) and Jordan Reimschisel (St. Louis office) join the Corporate and Business Transactions Group, while Emily Reed will be part of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group in Kansas City. Returning to Spencer Fane, Hughes and Reed previously participated in the summer associate program and Reimschisel served as a law clerk.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to grow our practices in a meaningful way that benefits our clients,” Spencer Fane Chair Pat Whalen said. “Our firm remains committed to measured growth, and this includes a concentrated effort to identify attorneys at all different stages of their careers who fit well with our culture and collaborative approach to legal service delivery.”

About the Attorneys

Heather Hughes most recently served as a legal intern with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri for Judges Bough, Counts, and Fenimore. She gained valuable experience researching and drafting memos on bankruptcy, criminal, and constitutional law. She also previously spent time as a legal intern with Sporting Kansas City and was a summer associate at Spencer Fane in 2019, gaining experience in financial services, corporate, and general commercial litigation matters. Hughes completed her undergraduate studies at Truman State University and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

Emily Reed originally came to Spencer Fane as a summer associate in 2019, researching and analyzing a wide range of matters, including noncompete agreements, fraudulent transfers, mergers and acquisitions, and open records law. She also served as a summer intern for the Kansas Court of Appeals in 2020 before spending the past year as a judicial intern for the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. Her duties included researching legal issues, drafting legal documents, and attending conferences and arraignments. Reed completed her undergraduate studies at Emporia State University and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law.

Jordan Reimschisel worked as a law clerk with an Illinois firm, gaining valuable experience in legal research and discovery review for products liability, mass torts, and civil procedure matters. He also previously served as an outreach associate and research assistant for technology policy at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center, a nonprofit scholarly research center.
