ST. LOUIS, Nov 1, 2021 -- HIPAAtrek, a startup healthcare technology company, announced today that Amy Coulter has been named as its new CEO. The transition began October 19, as founder and former CEO Sarah Badahman, CHPSE, steps into the President role, with a focus on developing customer education and product development.
“I am inspired by everything Sarah has built,” said Coulter. “She has created an innovative product and built a passionate, powerful team to support it. I am excited to build on this foundation, working to take the company to the next level.”
Based in St. Louis, HIPAAtrek was founded by Badahman in 2014, when, in her role as a healthcare administrator, she sought a compliance software that fit her needs.
Teaching herself to code, she built the first iteration of the HIPAAtrek platform, now the most complete HIPAA compliance software on the market. The platform manages all aspects of HIPAA compliance for hospitals, health systems, clinics, and other facilities, tracking each step so they are always audit-ready.
Coulter, who joined the HIPAAtrek board in 2018 and became the VP of Operations for the company in early 2021, brings years of healthcare technology experience to the role. In 2000, she co-founded health technology company Ability Network, (formerly named VisionShare) which was acquired by Inovalon in 2018 for $1.2B.
Throughout her time with Ability Network, Coulter worked to build collaboration and employee satisfaction across departments, guiding sales and technical teams as well as support from the first customer to over 13,000. She hopes to bring that leadership to HIPAAtrek, emphasizing the value of great employees.
“I could not be more honored that Amy accepted my invitation to join HIPAAtrek as CEO” Sarah said. “She has been an influential leader in the healthcare industry, and has worked with HIPAAtrek as a mentor, board member, and employee. She’s a great fit for our goals as a company and we are excited to continue working together.”
