The innovative mindset and leadership required to partner with CEOs and boards of directors to transform a business by using artificial intelligence, blockchain, and other new technologies and applications will soon be the focal point of the 2019 St. Louis CIO Executive Leadership Summit in downtown St. Louis.

Regional business and technology executives, academicians, and others are set to take part in the conference from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Marriott St. Louis Grand, at 8th Street and Washington Avenue.

“As companies strive to better meet the needs and expectations of their customers, CIOs and technology executives play a critical role in identifying how artificial intelligence, Big Data, analytics, the Internet of Things, blockchain, cloud computing, and other technologies can be leveraged to benefit their companies,” said Hunter Muller, president and CEO of HMG Strategy, which is organizing the conference. “These technologies can be used to enhance the customer experience, craft customer-focused business models, and gain a business advantage.”

The summit’s theme -- New Technologies - Fueling Big Opportunities and a Competitive Edge – references the need for CIOs and their team to develop a business strategy to win-over CEOs and boards of directors, said Lisa Nichols, CEO of St. Louis area-based Technology Partners, one of the summit’s moderators.

“Change is hard for most people, much less C-Suite executives who are often called upon to seek hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars, to fund new technology that can help drive business success,” Nichols said. “It takes strong leadership skills, an innovative mindset, and courage from a CIO to present new ideas to a CEO and other C-Suite executives.”

Nichols will moderate an executive panel discussion from 2 p.m. - 2:40 p.m. about “Women in IT Leading Global Organizations.” St. Louis-based panelists will be Kim Martin, EVP IT, Mastercard; Simona Rollinson, CIO, Clayco Construction; Teresa Sanzoterra, VP & CIO, Specialty Generics, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals; Erin Stamm, COO/CIO, Esse Healthcare; and, Petra Volckaert, Vice President, Global Marketing and Commercial Excellence IT Lead, Bayer Crop Science.

“Women account for just about 25 percent of IT leaders today, but they are responsible for driving unprecedented value in large, global organizations,” Nichols said. “This panel of successful women IT leaders from global organizations based in St. Louis will share their leadership strategies and stories about driving and leading technology teams in a hyper-competitive environment.”

The summit will include highly interactive sessions, focusing on three key areas of interest:

•       Strategy, Process Improvement and Alignment

•       Innovation and Technology

•       Career Management and Leadership Development

Speakers include executives from Ameren, Olin Corporation, Bayer Crop Science, Mastercard, and dozens of other St. Louis-based corporations engaged in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, construction, food services, entertainment, manufacturing, financial services, cyber security.

Registration is free to senior technology executives. For more information, call (203) 221-2702 or write info@hmgstrategy.com.
