Downtown West St. Louis New Event Space and Concert Hall Hosting Grand Opening Ceremony on November 3.

St. Louis, MO (October 31, 2022) St. Louis’ newest multi-use event space, The Hawthorn, is hosting a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony this Thursday, November 3. Located in Downtown West at 2231 Washington Avenue, this space is a versatile venue designed for special events such as weddings, galas, business events, and midsize concerts. The grand opening begins at 5 p.m. followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.

Communications Director Jeremy Hicks said the grand opening is designed to give St. Louis locals a chance to see the newly renovated space while enjoying free food, drinks, and live music. “We are so excited to showcase The Hawthorn and give people a look at what’s in store for their unique events,” said Hicks. “We want people to see for themselves just how the space can provide a blank canvas for clients and businesses to create a one-of-a-kind environment for their guests to experience.”

The mid-sized venue has a standing capacity of 1,300 people and can accommodate more than 300 people for banquet seating. The venue space is more than 10,000 square feet with two full-service bars and three hospitality suites, with banquet, theater and cocktail seating available.

The Hawthorn is managed by Marathon Live, a full-service venue management company that operates several other multi-use venues across the country including its flagship location in Nashville, Tennessee.

“We chose St. Louis as our newest venue’s location because of the potential for the Downtown West St. Louis area,” said Owner of Marathon Live, Josh Billue. “Our team is hopeful this event space will bring people to this neighborhood and inspire more businesses to develop here. We are so excited to see our space used for unique event opportunities for people living in the St. Louis area.”

The grand opening will feature performances by two St. Louis-based acts. DJ Mahf, a recording artist and the official DJ for the St. Louis Blues, will perform at 5 p.m. Mvstermind, an emerging hip-hop star and the Director of STL City SC Musical Experience will then take the stage at 7 pm.

The acts coming to St. Louis this November and December include country duo Muscadine Bloodline, American Idol winner Noah Thompson plus runner up HunterGirl, as well as Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and guitarist Tab Benoit.
