ST. LOUIS, Missouri – (1/6//2021) Wm French Buyer’s Real Estate Services, Inc. mourns the loss of its founder William M. (“Bill”) French, 77, who passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020. The agency plans to continue following a plan Bill had established.
Bill’s concept for Wm French Buyer’s Real Estate Services, Inc., was born through personal experience. In his early corporate career, Bill was relocated for work multiple times and learned that finding the right home to purchase was difficult because of a lock of information. In Bill’s mind, this was an area of opportunity in the real estate business: a comprehensive relocation service that focused solely on the buyers’ interests with a relocation plan tailored specifically to their needs. In 1977 Bill established Wm French Buyer’s Real Estate Services, Inc – the first of its kind in the country.
Bill French used his extensive real estate knowledge to write informational articles for numerous publications such as: The Real Estate Intelligence Report, the Agency Law Quarterly, and National Relocation Real Estate. He also has been a featured speaker at multiple national real estate conferences and has served on the Board of Directors for the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council. In 2001, Bill was inducted into the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC) Hall of Fame for his creation of the first and largest buyers-only model agency in the country.
“I had a 40-year relationship with Bill and his agency, but now that I am the acting Trustee, I have learned that the business model, the staff and the agents continue to perform extraordinarily well” said Mike Doster, Bill’s longtime attorney and friend. “There are good and prudent reasons to continue the operation of the agency which is part of Bill’s legacy.”
Julie Brown, Director of Relocation at Wm French Buyer’s Real Estate Services, has felt encouraged by the support of clients and stated: “I have been in contact with our referral sources, and while they mourn Bill’s passing as we do, they have all expressed support and intention to continue making referrals to the agency. This is because of the agency’s extraordinary track record of providing unique, individualized, high quality service to the buyers.”
