National Blues artist John D’Amato to perform At

BB’S Jazz, Blues and Soups, St.  Louis, MO

Nashville based Blues Artist John D’Amato will be bringing his brand of hard rocking soulful blues to BB’s Jazz Blues And Soups on Sunday, June 16th.

John is on the road to promoting his new, soon to be released CD “Blood On The Strings” and will be performing new material from that CD.  The new material will include several duets with John’s wife Lauren Cook D’Amato. Lauren is an accomplished vocalist that has been billed with Lionel Ritchie, as well as appearing at Madison Square Garden.

John previous release “Born Blue: The Sun Sessions” reached #5 on “The Roots Music Report Blues Rock Song Charts” and was nominated for an Independent Blues Award in the “Best Blues Rock Song” category.

The title of John’s previous release is both informational: since the CD was recorded at the world famous “Sun Studios” in Memphis and autobiographical: John was literally “Born Blue” at birth due to a congenital heart defect, as a result John had to be monitored closely and tested frequently. His childhood seemed like an endless routine of doctor visits and hospital stays until he reached the age of nine when an experimental procedure corrected his disorder.

During that time the two things that helped him through those rough times were God and his older sisters’ guitar. He would pick it up, on his darkest days and just play. Eventually he got his own guitar and started writing down how he felt at the time and putting it to music. Amongst the great blues songwriters, childhood misadventures can be the ultimate inspiration for the blues. These songs will not only grab you musically, but lyrically as well

The successful reception of John’s 1st CD, “Ain’t No Big Deal”, sparked a slew of performances with many blues notables such as: B. B. King, Billy Cox, Eric Gales and Joe Louis Walker. Joe Louis Walker was so impressed with John’s ability, he asked John to make a guest appearance on his first Alligator records release. John was also selected as one of “Guitar Player Magazine’s Editors Top 8”

John’s soulful vocal style, coupled his incendiary guitar playing and the new material from his upcoming release “Blood On The Strings” promises to give you one soulful, high energy, blues show.

John will be performing on Sunday 6/16 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm at BB’S JAZZ, BLUES AND SOUPS  700 S Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63102 Tel# (314) 436-5222
