In The Eyez Of The Child

This is Harmony Smith a 10 year old girl diagnosed with autism at age 3.  At 5 months of my pregnancy the doctor noticed 4 cyst on each lobe of her brain. With much prayer applied; upon the next day all 4 cyst were gone. She was delivered early  at 35 weeks with a few minor health delays that kept her hospitalized for a few extra days. As time progressed I noticed that she wasn't advancing like most kids. From that point on in her later months I knew something was wrong. But she is growing strong daily and our only hopes is to be able to share her amazing story, "In The Eyez Of  The Child" with the world in hopes to help others find strength  and stretch forward in life. Thank you for  your time. Hope to hear from you soon. Have a wonderful day.

Ten-year-old Harmony Smith Has Written Her First Book

“In the Eyez of the Child”

St. Louis, Missouri – At the age of ten, St. Louis native and young writer, Harmony Smith has written her first book, “In the Eyez of the Child.”

With the help of her mother, Tianna Smith, Harmony has written “In the Eyez of the Child”, which aims to inspire and encourage children who are on the Autism spectrum, as well as their families. Harmony, who is autistic, is proving to the world that she can do anything, and that any child facing similar challenges that she faces can be just as triumphant!

“In the Eyez of the Child” is told through Harmony’s perspective and the events of the book are told through poetry. Harmony’s inspiration for the book came from the scripture, 1 Corinthians 2:9, which states “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

As a parent of a special needs child, Tianna hopes that “In the Eyez of the Child” will uplift families with children who have special needs to continue to stay strong, stay encouraged, and to know that they are not alone in their journey. "We will always be winners if we never give up,” said Tianna.
