Holt High School senior Cole Mueller has been selected as a Big Red Top 25 player in the St. Louis Metro Area by the St. Louis/Tom Lombardo Chapter of the National Football Foundation (NFF) for the second consecutive year, and was recognized at their 27th Annual Awards Banquet on May 5, 2019. The Big Red Top 25 players are chosen by an independent scouting service based solely on performance on the football field.

He was also named to the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Missouri Football Team, the First Team All-State Football Team by the Missouri Football Coaches Association and the First Team All-Metro Football Team by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch this year. Additionally, he received the Outstanding Senior Athletic Award, as well as a $500 scholarship, from the St. Charles County Amateur Sports Hall of Fame in March of this year.
Mueller will play football for Illinois State University and pursue a degree in physical education next year. Mueller is the son of Brent and Janell Mueller of Wentzville.
The mission of the NFF is to promote and develop the power of amateur football in developing the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, competitive zeal and the drive for academic excellence in America’s young people.
