St, Charles Democrats Hire Executive Director
(St. Charles, MO, February 10, 2020) The St. Charles Democratic Central Committee has hired Kyle Garner to be their Executive Director. Garner’s role will be to support Democratic candidates and causes within the County, as well as working to provide information about policies and the political process to the community. His work will be invaluable in moving Missouri away from the failed policies of the Republican majority that has held our state back for the last two decades and towards a more prosperous, inclusive Missouri.
Garner ran for State Representative in the 52nd district in 2016 and has stayed involved in Democratic circles since then, mentoring candidates and connecting new activists with opportunities to become involved in organizations. He left a position as a consultant with a local physician staffing firm in order to again become more directly involved in the political process. A lifelong Missourian, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position, along with an energetic embrace of new ideas.
When asked at a recent event about Democratic prospects for the upcoming election, Kyle responded: “Since Republicans took over our legislature, our schools have fallen behind our neighboring states, our infrastructure has been ignored, our economy has lagged behind the nation and our neighbors, and our health care has become harder to find as rural hospitals close their doors. “
Garner continued, “We have an opportunity here in St. Charles to bring some sanity and responsive representation back to all levels of our government and I’m excited to get to work. We deserve better than officials whose top priority is maintaining their own power through any means rather than serving the voters. We have to return to a government of, by, and for the People and move away from representatives who will ignore reality in order to stay loyal to a Party above all else.
Voters here and around the state are seeing that the issues they care about, things like having fair elections, defeating Right to Work, ensuring a living wage, or investing in our schools and roads, those things are what the Republicans stand against. Voters support the Democratic position every time it’s up as a ballot issue so we just have to do a better job educating people about what the Parties actually do when elected.”
Morton Todd, Chairman of the Central Committee is thrilled about adding a full time Executive Director. “When we approached potential donors with the idea of adding an Executive Director we were blown away by the support. Our $20 for 20 campaign to fund the position was a huge success and we were able to add the position earlier than expected. St. Charles County has been seeing more and more support for Democratic candidates over the last few elections. I think Kyle will help continue that momentum and lead to further success for us in 2020.”
