2019 MSBA Men's professional basketball CHAMPS

The St.Louis Trotters Men's professional basketball team brought home another championship this weekend.  The Trotters went to Nashville Tennessee to play in the playoffs part of the MSBA (MidSouth Basketball Association). This is a new league that the Trotters became part of this spring 2019. For the semifinals, the Trotters took on the the Smokey Mountains Black Bears out of Knoxville Tennessee.  The Trotters started off the game slow but ended up pulling it together to take control of the the game by the second quarter. The Black Bears went on a run to cut the 15 point lead to 6 by halftime.  During the 2nd half, the Trotters went on another run and never looked back. Final score of that game was Trotters 110 Black Bears 103. The Trotters advanced to the Finals.  They was led by Cameron Hicks with 32pts, Quis Pepper with 24 and Nicholas Reed with 21. 

For the finals,  the Trotters took on the host team Tennessee Sting out of Nashville Tennessee. The Sting beat the number 1 seed team Kentucky Flash in the semifinals to play the Trotters.  In the finals game, the Trotters took off with a 10 point lead in the 1st quarter to gain momentum for the game. The lead quickly went up to 20 in the 2nd quarter with the Trotters taking a 15 point lead into halftime. During the 2nd half,  the Trotters continued there dominant play in the 3rd quarter but the Sting chipped away at the lead.  Making a quick run at the end of the 3rd quarter, the Sting managed to tie the game in the middle of the 4th quarter.  The Trotters went to a half court trap to make the Sting turn the ball over and get some easy point for the Trotters.  The Trotters pull away with the game for a 120 to 108 victory over the Sting.  The Trotters was led by Mike Chandler 24pts, Nicholas Reed 22pts and Milan Pepper with 20.  This is the Trotters 3rd championship in the last 5 years.
