Cardinals management again put together a playoff roster, but manager Mike Shildt was unexpectedly fired on Thursday after leading the team to the wild-card game. 

The Cardinals picked several players off the scrap heap who wound up putting together a solid few months, and perhaps most importantly for 2021, ownership didn't tear things down when things got rough this past summer.
