On Sept. 10, 1974, Lou Brock stole his 104th and 105th base of the season, breaking the Major League record held by Maury Wills.
"He's unbelievable," shortstop Larry Bowa of the rival Phillies said that night. "Everybody in the ballpark knows he's gonna run and he makes it anyway. I don't think this record will be broken for a while."
Brock would go on to steal 118 bases that season. Rickey Henderson would steal 130 bases in 1982, the only time that record would be topped.
Here's a look back at that night and of the Hall of Fame career of Lou Brock.
