2021 All-Metro football: Generational talents shine in the national spotlight

2021 All-Metro football: Generational talents shine in the national spotlight

From the Fall All-Metro 2021 series

East St. Louis' Luther Burden III and St. Mary's Kevin Coleman are generational talents who have spent the last four seasons sharing a nationwide spotlight while playing the same position (wide receiver).

During the same four seasons, Toriano Pride Jr. realized his dreams of earning the chance to play big-time college football — only at cornerback, a position he didn't start playing in earnest until he was a freshman.

Pride, who played as a senior at East St. Louis, is the Post-Dispatch All-Metro football defensive player of the year. Burden and Coleman are the co-offensive players of the year.

Please enjoy this season's Post-Dispatch All-Metro football team, honoring the St. Louis area's best after a season where three area teams won state titles and two others finished as runners-up.
