A senior sprinter, Barr led the Lions to a record-setting performance at Kirkwood’s Dale Collier Invitational. He ran a 48.7-second split as the anchor leg on the Lions’ 1,600 relay that finished in 3 minutes and 13.15 seconds. It is the fastest 1,600 relay ever run by a high school team in Missouri according to MileSplit, besting the official state record of 3:14.04 set by Hazelwood East at the state championship meet in 1986. It ranks as the second-fastest time in the nation this spring, trailing only Texas powerhouse DeSoto (3:12.34). Barr, a Baylor signee, made his open event debut at Kirkwood, winning the 400 in 49.66. He sat out last season with an injury.
