The final week of the 2019 high school football regular season has arrived. Here's a look at some of the top matchups in the area as teams prepare for the postseason.
Marquette Mustangs at Lafayette Lancers

On Marquette: Had longest winning streak in school history end last week at the hands of rival Eureka. Fell behind Joplin for top seed in Class 6 District 3 tournament. ...Junior running back Chris Kreh has rushed for 1,417 yards and 18 touchdowns. He was held to a season-low 48 yards against Eureka and did not score a rushing touchdown for the first time this season. Had second touchdown reception this season last week. Senior quarterback George Williams has thrown for 633 yards, nine touchdowns and been intercepted four times. Senior receiver Ben Cohen has 12 receptions for 232 yards and three touchdowns. ...Eureka's 28 points scored last week was the most Marquette's defense has allowed this season.
On Lafayette: Rebounded from 3-7 finish last season. Lone loss this season came to Eureka, 24-22, on Sept. 20. Split last four games with Marquette. Lost last season's matchup 35-0 to give Marquette its first shutout in the rivalry in at least two decades. ...Senior running back Caden Phipps has rushed 1,009 yards and scored 22 total touchdowns to tie him for the area lead. Junior quarterback Blake Micek completed 14 of 22 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns in last week's win over Lindbergh. It was just his third game with multiple touchdown passes. Junior receiver Pernell Garner has 23 receptions for 313 yards and two touchdowns. ...Defense has anchored consecutive shutout wins over Parkway South, Parkway North and Lindbergh. Sophomore Tommy Hagan has 64 tackles and five sacks. Senior Marsean Fisher has 55 tackles and seven sacks. Senior Antonio Cooper has three interceptions.
Lutheran North Crusaders at Chaminade Red Devils

Defeated Chaminade 40-0 last season. ...Sophomore quarterback Brian Brown stepped into the starting role in the third game of the season and hasn't given it up as he's completed 49 of 69 passes for 979 yards with 12 touchdowns and two interceptions. He's rushed for 329 yards and six touchdowns. Sophomore running back Ali Wells has rushed for 468 yards and 10 touchdowns. Senior running back Jalen Head has rushed for 330 yards and seven scores. Senior Jordan Smith transitioned to receiver and has excelled with 18 receptions for 345 yards and four touchdowns. Senior Cameron Griffin has 14 receptions for 266 yards and four touchdowns. ...Has not allowed an opponent to score more than 14 points. Senior linebacker/defensive end Itayvion Brown has 72 tackles and three sacks. Junior linebacker Chris Childs has 52 tackles. Senior defensive back Aubrey Parker has three interceptions. Senior linebacker Antonio Doyle and junior defensive lineman Travion Ford have two sacks combined.
On Chaminade: Matched last season's win total (6-6) with last week's win over Poplar Bluff. Has won back-to-back games three times this season but has not won three in a row since 2017. ...Senior quarterback and Missouri recruit Brady Cook has completed 139 of 222 passes for 2,300 yards, 23 touchdowns and four interceptions. He's rushed for 331 yards and three touchdowns. Senior athlete LJ Fortune has racked up 1,173 combined rushing and receiving yards and scored 15 total touchdowns. Junior running back Amar Johnson has rushed for 771 yards and seven touchdowns. Sophomore receiver Elijah Griffin has 29 catches for 628 yards and seven touchdowns. ...Senior safety Luke Nichols has 72 tackles. Sophomore Grant Finley has 35 tackles and five sacks. Senior defensive back Jabin Johnson has three interceptions.
Kirkwood Pioneers at Ladue Rams

Senior receiver and Missouri recruit Jay Maclin has caught 11 passes for 176 yards in his three games since returning from injury. Junior receiver Jackson Fortner has caught 35 passes for 563 yards and scored five touchdowns. Junior receiver William Lee has 23 receptions for 426 yards and five touchdowns. Junior running backs Gerald Jackson and Nate Jones have combined for 571 yards and three touchdowns. ...Senior linebacker Cameron Macon has 48 tackles and four sacks. Junior defensive back Mekhl Macklin has made 46 tackles.
On Ladue: Defending Class 4 champion has won 23 consecutive games. Last loss came in the Class 4 state title game in 2017. Defeated Kirkwood last year 34-21 in the first meeting between the two since 1999, which Kirkwood won 35-3. Ladue used Kirkwood's Lyons Memorial Field as its home away from home the last two years while its on-campus stadium was built. This is the first season Ladue has played on its campus since 2015. ...Ladue has not submitted statistics to STLhighschoolsports.com.

Has lost its last two games and three of the last four to Summit after winning 10 in a row and 17 of 18 dating back to 1999. ...Senior quarterback Enrique Quinones has completed 71 of 148 passes for 1,354 yards, nine touchdowns and been intercepted eight times. Senior athlete Jerqon Conners has 635 combined rushing and receiving yards and has scored seven touchdowns. Senior receiver Jacobi Banks has 23 receptions for 670 yards and scored four touchdowns. ...Senior defensive end Noah Arinze has made 53 tackles and eight sacks. Senior linebacker Maurion Clemons has made 48 tackles. Banks has three interceptions. Senior Cole Schnettgoecke has five sacks.
On Summit: Has won four consecutive games. Three of those wins came against teams with a combined record of 2-22. Has won its last two with Webster Groves and three of the last four. ...Senior quarterback Andrew Klump has completed 88 of 158 passes for 1,298 yards, 22 touchdowns and been intercepted four times. Senior running back Kamarin Young has rushed for 782 yards and seven touchdowns. Sophomore running back Dareonte Turman has rushed for 309 yards and five touchdowns. Senior receiver Deandre Knox has caught 28 passes for 502 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. ...Defense has yet to allow an opponent to score more than 21 points. Young has four sacks. Senior safety Justin Vance has 44 tackles and two interceptions. Three players have two interceptions.
Hazelwood Central Hawks at McCluer North Stars

On Hazelwood Central: Dethroned as Suburban XII North and old Suburban North champion after seven consecutive years atop the conference. Won back-to-back games for the first time this season with wins over Ritenour and Riverview Gardens. Has won eight in a row against McCluer North. ...Senior quarterback Kaden Jackson has completed 45 of 97 passes for 777 yards, eight touchdowns and been intercepted twice. He has rushed for 588 yards and four touchdowns. No one else has rushed for more than 200 yards this season. Senior receiver Charles Johnson has caught 12 passes for 250 yards and four touchdowns. ...Senior linebacker Devin Robinson has 61 tackles. Sophomore defensive back Jarrell Cole has 61 tackles. Senior defensive lineman Curtis Gillespie has 36 tackles and five sacks.
On McCluer North: Six wins in a season is the most for the Stars since 2014 when they won seven. Has lost its last eight against rival Hazelwood Central. Dropped its first game that went four quarters last week to Hazelwood West. First game of the season against Edwardsville was called complete before the first quarter was finished due to severe weather. Edwardsville led 7-6. ...Dynamic duo of Travon Springfield and Angelo Butts power the offense. A senior running back, Springfield has rushed for 1,055 yards and 16 touchdowns. Butts, who sometimes slots in at quarterback, has rushed for 574 yards and 10 touchdowns. Butts has caught 14 passes for 275 yards and four scores and also thrown for two touchdowns as well. ...Senior Bakale Harris has six sacks. Defense allowed a season-high 31 points in last week's loss to Hazelwood West.
