The playoffs kick off this weekend in Missouri and Illinois. Here's a look at some of the top first-round matchups in the area.

On Lindbergh: Ended four-game losing streak with Week 9 victory at Parkway South. Lost 17-0 to Lafayette on Oct. 18 to snap two-game winning streak against the Lancers. Senior quarterback Logan Marchand has thrown for 1,092 yards, eight touchdowns and been intercepted three times. Sophomore running back Adam Dupont has rushed for 440 yards and six touchdowns. Senior running back Bobby Tessler has rushed for 414 yards and six touchdowns. Marchand has rushed for six touchdowns. Junior Logan Kopp has caught 19 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns. ...Junior linebacker Alec Clinton has made 83 tackles and four sacks. Kopp has 81 tackles, three sacks and an interception. Tessler has 13 tackles and three sacks.
On Lafayette: Had three-game shutout streak broken by rival Marquette when it gave up a season-high 34 points. No other opponent broke 24 the previous eight games. Won regular-season meeting with Lindbergh 17-0 after losing two in a row to Flyers. Had won previous six against Lindbergh. Junior quarterback Jake Micek has thrown for 899 yards, eight touchdowns and been intercepted seven times. Senior running back Caden Phipps has rushed for 1,103 yards and 18 touchdowns. Phipps has 15 catches for 261 yards and three touchdowns. Senior Marsean Fisher has 20 receptions for 388 yards and five touchdowns. ...Junior Mitchell Hoffman has 92 tackles and two interceptions. Senior linebacker Jack Saunders has 91 tackles and two sacks. Fisher has 58 tackles and seven sacks. Senior Antonio Cooper has three interceptions.

Porter has 21 receptions for 263 yards and two touchdowns. ...Senior linebacker Anthony Bohannon has made 121 tackles and six sacks. Senior Luke Schuermann has 71 tackles and 10 sacks.
On CBC: Won 17 consecutive games against SLUH. Has played in a district championship every year since new playoff format was adopted in 2012. Scored the first 48 points against Belleville West in last week's bounce-back win after losing on the road at Rockhurst for the first time in at least 20 years. Sophomore quarterback Ayden Robinson-Wayne has thrown for 1,359 yards, 14 touchdowns and been intercepted three times. Has rushed for 770 yards and 11 touchdowns. Junior running back Jordan Clay has rushed for 671 yards and six touchdowns. Senior Ray Lingard has rushed for 315 yards and seven touchdowns. ...Lingard leads the team with 73 tackles to go along with four sacks. Senior defensive end Michael West has 54 tackles and six sacks. Senior Cameron Powell has five interceptions and sophomore Blair Schonhorst has four interceptions in the secondary.
St. Charles East Fighting Saints at Edwardsville Tigers

Happy to not have to see Lincoln-Way East, which eliminated it each of the last two seasons. ...Offense likes to keep the ball on the ground with running back Cole Conn, who leads the team with 763 yards and 12 touchdowns. Quarterback Nathan Hayes completed 9 of 18 passes for 179 yards and was intercepted twice in last week's regular season finale against Lake Park. Senior offensive lineman Dylan Barrett, a 6-foot-5 and 305-pound powerhouse, has verbally committed to Wisconsin. ...Defense held Lake Park to three total yards of offense in the second half of last week's regular-season finale.
On Edwardsville: Earned a ninth consecutive playoff appearance. Has made the the quarterfinals the last two seasons. Advanced to the semifinals in 2017 as the No. 26 seed. Junior running back Justin Johnson Jr. rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns against Vianney in the regular-season finale. Johnson missed time due to injury earlier this season. Senior quarterback Ryan Hampton has thrown for 515 yards, six touchdowns and been intercepted three times. ...Senior linebacker Jacob Morrissey leads the team with 33 tackles.
Hazelwood Central Hawks at Hazelwood West Wildcats

On Hazelwood West: Won first outright conference championship in at least 20 years. Defeated Hazelwood Central in last season's district tournament and won this year's regular-season meeting 26-19. Only loss came to Oakville 3-0 in Week 1 after game was called due to inclement weather in the first half. Senior quarterback Darius Cooper has thrown for 1,139 yards, 15 touchdowns and been intercepted five times. He's rushed for 768 yards and nine touchdowns. Junior running back Jeremiah Johnson has rushed for 482 yards and two touchdowns. Five receivers have caught at least two touchdown passes. Senior Joseph Fuller leads the way with 15 receptions for 243 yards and two scores. ...Junior linebacker Alijah Bland has 80 tackles. Senior linebacker Charles Davis has 43 tackles and six sacks.
Highland Bulldogs at Cahokia Comanches

On Highland: Makes eighth consecutive playoff appearance. Bowed out last season in the Class 5A quarterfinals. Lost three of first four games this season before ripping off five successive wins, including victories over playoff qualifiers Triad and Civic Memorial. Freshman quarterback Brent Wuebbles has thrown for 967 yards, 16 touchdowns and been intercepted three times. He's also rushed for 569 yards and six touchdowns. Junior running back Logan Chandler has rushed for 1,316 yards and 18 touchdowns. Senior receiver Connor Sands has 26 receptions for 480 yards and nine touchdowns. ...Sands has 64 tackles and three interceptions at defensive back. Sophomore linebacker Byrce Iberg has 63 tackles. Junior safety Liam Gallagher has 55 tackles and three interceptions.
On Cahokia: Makes consecutive playoff appearances for the first time since its seven-year streak between 2003-09 was broken. Advanced to the Class 5A quarterfinals last season. Won last five games of regular season. Junior quarterback Chris Bradley Jr. has thrown for 1,934 yards and 16 touchdowns. Senior running back Vincent Perry has rushed for 917 yards and eight touchdowns. Junior Shawn Binford Jr. has caught 23 passes for 475 yards and six touchdowns. Junior Stevern McCall has 40 receptions for 766 yards and four touchdowns. …Binford has 82 tackles and nine sacks. Senior linebacker Delvondre Jenkins has 76 tackles and three sacks.
