BLUES vs. MAPLE LEAFS
When, where: 6 p.m. Saturday, Enterprise Center.
TV, radio: FSM, WXOS (101.1 FM).
About the Maple Leafs: For all the starpower and hype, the Maple Leafs are the picture of mediocrity at 13-13-4, and one of the biggest disappointments so far in the NHL. In the midst of a six-game winless streak (0-5-1), coach Mike Babcock was fired and replaced Nov. 20 by 39-year-old Sheldon Keefe. The Leafs won their first three games under Keefe, but have since gone 1-3 including Wednesday’s 3-1 home loss to Colorado.
Auston Matthews ranks among the NHL leaders with 16 goals and 31 points, but has no goals and one assist over his last five games. William Nylander (11) and John Tavares (10) also are in double figures in goals; overall Toronto ranks 11th in scoring averaging at 3.13 goals per game. After missing nearly a month with a high-ankle sprain, Mitch Marner (four goals, 14 assists in 19 games) returned to the lineup against the Avalanche.
The Blues won the previous meeting 3-2 Oct. 7 in Toronto.
