The struggles continue for the Illini under first-year coach Brad Underwood. After their 92-45 walkover against overmatched Longwood, they fell to New Mexico State 74-69 at Chicago's United Center. Forward Leron Black came off the bench to deliver 17 points and eight rebounds for the Illini, but they faltered in the waning moments of the game. They don't play again until facing Mizzou in the Braggin' Rights game at Scottrade Center.
