The Immaculate Conception Catholic School Builders Club has been mighty busy this last month.
Their first project was the pre-holiday food drive in late October, where the school collected 4,669 food and household items donated by the public.
"Since our brothers and sisters need to eat all year round and not just at the holidays, the project makes sense," ICS Principal Mike Kish said.
The top three donating classes were Bill Riley's with 1,022 items, Cheryl Tolan's with 568 and Karen Weiler's with 410.
The committee organizing the drive was headed by Loren Nemetz, assisted by Olivia Mohr, Hanna Raeber, Kelly Diesel, Greg Fasnacht, Blake Mueller, Katie Fletcher, Claire Buchheit and John Pratl.
St. Vincent DePau Society members Jim Held, Tom Herrmann, Bob Koberlein, Tom Wolfmeier, Spider Janson, Sleepy Schmidt, Glen Huebner and Rich Toenjes transported the supplies to Catholic Urban Programs.

The Builders Club has also been involved with helping themselves by joining a project with the Columbia Kiwanis Club to add another SmartBoard at the school.
This SmartBoard technology allows a 72 inch diagonal white board to become an interactive touch-based computer screen. Mediums that can be displayed on the board are DVD, VHS, cable and a document reader.
"ICS is proud of the work of the Columbia Kiwanis Club and its own Builders Club in this $4,400 project," Kish said.
At a special presentation, Builder's Club President Hannah Raeber accepted $3,900 from the Kiwanis to fund the project, along with their own contribution of $500. Kiwanis Club President Dewan Prashad, Builders Club Advisor John Mathews and Terrific Kids Advisor Pat McDermott also participated.
