Halloween events in the area

Here are some fun, safe ways to celebrate Halloween:

TUESDAY:

- The Renfro Elementary Halloween Walk will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. at the school. Those attending are invited to wear their costumes and play games.

- The Collinsville Public Library will host pumpkin carving from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Bring your own already-scooped pumpkin or buy one from the library for $1 to design, paint, carve and enjoy. No registration is necessary.

THURSDAY:

- The Collinsville Public Library will be hosting "The Night Before Halloween Storytelling." The campfire will be lit at 6:30 p.m. behind the Blum House on the library property and stories will begin at 7 p.m. Recommended for adults only.

FRIDAY:

- The Maryville Police Department will host its annual Halloween Walk from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Maryville Elementary on West Main Street. Prizes for best costume based on age from infant to 12 years.
