Corporate America Supports You, a Lake Saint Louis nonprofit recently received a $250,000 grant from Activision’s Call of Duty Endowment, according to a press release.
Corporate America Supports You provides military service members, veterans, transitioning military, National Guard and Reserves with employment readiness and job placement solutions. The endowment is a private nonprofit foundation that supports groups placing former service members into rewarding careers while raising awareness of the value veterans bring to the civilian workplace.
The grant comes five months after CASY received an unrestricted $30,000 grant for being named one of the Endowment’s inaugural “Seal of Distinction” award winners — an initiative launched to highlight nonprofit organizations proven to be the most effective and efficient at placing veterans into high quality careers.
After receiving the Seal of Distinction award in November 2013, winners were asked to submit large-scale plans demonstrating what they would do with increased funding. As a part of the Call of Duty Endowment’s continued commitment to applying sound business principles to the veteran nonprofit space, the Endowment worked with CASY in developing a proposal to help hundreds more veterans find meaningful work while ensuring every dollar has maximum impact.
“CASY is honored to receive this meaningful grant from the Call of Duty Endowment,” said Deb Kloeppel, president and founder of CASY. "Since being named an inaugural Seal of Distinction winner in November 2013 — an award bestowed on the best in class nonprofits dedicated to hiring vets as efficiently and effectively as possible — we have worked hand-in-hand with the Endowment to develop a business plan to expand our operations. This grant will allow us to continue to grow, and more importantly, increase our ability to help place veterans into high quality jobs. CASY is committed to being a nonprofit that not only walks the walk, but one who demonstrates responsible money management and corporate governance.”
CASY has 10 years of documented success in placing U.S. military veterans and National Guard and Reservists into high quality jobs. This grant is part of more than $4 million in veteran employment philanthropic gifts planned to be donated by the Call of Duty Endowment in 2014.
