A St. Charles woman is the Home Instead Senior Car network's Salute to Senior Service Missouri award winner, according to a press release. Phyllis Hymes, 71, is recognized for her community service, including work at Volunteers in Medicine and United Methodist Church.
Hymes’ commitment to helping others is evident. After working for 36 years as an executive secretary at her local hospital, Hymes found Volunteers in Medicine, where she works 30 hours a week in her local clinic and writing grants for the organization. She also volunteers several hours every week in her church office.
As one of 50 state winners, Hymes earned $500 for her charity of choice, donated by Home Instead Inc., franchisor of the Home Instead Senior Care network and contest sponsor. Hymes also will have a spot on the Salute to Senior Service Wall of Fame on SalutetoSeniorService.com.
