May 13 was celebrated as Falun Dafa Day in Missouri and around the world. It marked the 21st anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction to the public.

A high-level advanced self-improvement practice for the mind and body has been embraced by millions of people around the world. Falun Dafa’s profound moral teachings, meditation and four gentle exercises offer a unique and convenient way to cultivate oneself and improve health and energy levels.

In recognition of the Falun Gong practice, government officials and organizations have granted several proclamations, and awards for contributions to community. Thanks to mayors of St. Charles, St. Peters, O'Fallon and Wentzville for proclaiming May 13 Falun Dafa Day.

In Asia, spiritual practices like Falun Dafa are often referred to as ways of “cultivation” or “self cultivation.” At the core of Falun Gong are the values of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. Practitioners of Falun Gong take these principles as the guiding factor for daily life and practice. Through consistent and dedicated practice, people who practice Falun Gong achieve a state of selflessness, greater insight and awareness, inner purity, and balance.

Though Falun Gong began in China, in the 20 years since its introduction to the public it has grown to be a worldwide phenomenon. Today Falun Gong is practiced by people from various ethnic backgrounds, professions and all ages in more than 80 countries. To learn more about Falun Dafa, visit www.falundafa.org. One can learn the exercises of Falun Gong from that website or from a local practice site, www.falun-mo.net.
