Who and where • Wayne and Janis Wiskow of Maryville on a recent trip to the Galápagos Islands.
The trip • They had booked an action-packed weeklong eco-tourism trip on the 22 passenger cruise ship Evolution. They hiked, snorkeled and kayaked around several of the islands. The wide variety of animals, including the giant tortoises on the island of Santa Cruz, were the main attractions.
Travel tip • Spread around the equator, the islands have a very temperate climate. Ecuador requires full vaccination and a negative COVID test to enter the Galapagos.
