SIX ENDANGERED WOLF PUPS BORN at the Endangered Wolf Center The pups mother, Abby, was born in 2004. The father, Perkins, was born in 2005 and was names by famed actress Betty White in honor of the Center's founder Dr. Marlin Perkins. The Mexican gray wolf is the rarest wolf in the world with only 50 running free. These 6 pups are the first litter born this year and are the only reported captive born litter to date. These pups are also one of the very rare "multigenerational" packs in captivity. Having multigenerational family pack experience is extremely important to the yearlings and the pups and will teach them skills that will add to their ability to be successful in the wild.
