Green Business Award 2026
This newly constructed automotive dealership was designed with sustainability and environmental stewardship as central priorities, incorporating innovative systems that reduce energy consumption, protect natural resources and create a healthier environment for guests and employees alike.
The facility at Spirit Lexus features a fully integrated LED lighting system with smart daylight harvesting technology that automatically adjusts lighting levels based on natural sunlight, significantly reducing energy usage. The exterior lighting utilizes DarkSky-compliant fixtures, preventing light pollution while cutting exterior lighting energy use by up to 60 to 75 percent compared with traditional lighting.
Environmental responsibility also extends to the site’s advanced stormwater management infrastructure. An underground retention vault and bioretention filtration system help control runoff, reduce sediment discharge and protect surrounding water infrastructure during heavy rain. One of the facility’s most distinctive sustainability features is its vegetative green roof. The plants growing on the roof absorb rainwater, improve insulation and reduce the urban heat island effect. This living roof also creates a habitat for pollinators and plant biodiversity. Through these initiatives, Spirit Lexus has gone above and beyond to reduce its environmental footprint.
