Manchester’s electronics and metal recycling event will take place earlier than usual this May, giving residents a chance to responsibly dispose of unwanted items while supporting a local cause.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Schroeder Park.
The recycling event provides residents with a convenient way to safely dispose of electronics and metal items that are not accepted through regular curbside services. Items such as small appliances, computers and other household metals are typically accepted. For a full list of accepted items, residents can visit manchestermo.gov/ecycling or contact Midwest Recycling Center at 636-223-0150.
May’s event has been moved up one week from its typical schedule due to the St. Louis Scottish Games, which will be held at Schroeder Park on May 16.
In addition to recycling, participants are encouraged to support the Circle of Concern Food Pantry. The city is asking attendees to donate two or more canned goods, nonperishable food items or make a monetary contribution. Donations will directly benefit local families in need.
The event is made possible through a partnership with Saint Louis County Public Health, with funding provided through county landfill surcharge grants.
