This year, the Creve Coeur Police Department will again be one of the host sites for the annual FBI-National Academy Associates blood drive. Anyone can sign up to donate blood on Wednesday, July 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Creve Coeur Police Department (350 N. New Ballas Rd.).
Why donate blood
Summer is the time of year when donor blood supplies are the lowest. Your blood may help to save a life.
- More than 4.5 million people need blood transfusions each year.
- Roughly 1 in 7 people entering a hospital need blood.
- When you donate blood, 14 tests will be performed on your blood, including HIV, Hep B & C, West Nile, and Chagas disease. You will be notified of any concerns.
- If you are type O negative, you are a universal donor, meaning your blood cells can be transfused to any patient, regardless of blood type.
