Bills host SEMO, play A-10 road series vs. George Mason
Saint Louis (16-20, 8-7 A-10) pauses from Atlantic 10 Conference play to host Southeast Missouri State (12-21) in a midweek single game Wednesday, April 8, at 5 p.m.
The Billikens then travel to Fairfax, Va., for a three-game A-10 series with George Mason (19-17, 7-8 A-10) April 11-12. Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game begin at 11 a.m. Central.
With three league series remaining, SLU is tied with Dayton for third place behind Loyola Chicago (9-3) and Saint Joseph's (7-5). (Loyola Chicago and Saint Joseph's have already had their conference bye weekends.) The Billikens host Dayton April 18-19 and play at St. Bonaventure April 25-26.

- SLU leads the A-10 with seven shutouts (24th nationally), 144 walks (51st nationally) and 141 RBIs. The Billikens are second in the conference and 58th nationally with a 3.45 ERA.
- Abby Ulsas is riding a six-game hitting streak during which she is batting .526 (10-for-19), lifting her team-leading averages to .330 overall and .381 in A-10 contests. Ulsas also has been strong at third base, ranking 29th nationally with 89 assists.
- Anna Christ is 3-2 with a 1.00 ERA and two shutouts over her last five outings (all starts). Christ has issued just 2.8 walks per seven innings and allowed only eight extra-base hits (one home run) during that stretch. Her 2.31 season ERA ranks third in the A-10.
- Ava Wombles has hit safely in six of her last eight games (8-for-22, .364). Wombles' 10 RBIs in those eight games are a team high. Her batting averages of .318 overall and .290 in A-10 play rank second on the team.
- Kate Proffitt has hit safely in four straight and nine of her last 12 games (11-of-36, .306). Proffitt has nine RBIs in those 12 games, second most on the team.
- Bella Stephens has hit safely in 12 of her last 14 games (15-for-50, .300). Stephens' .289 average in A-10 games ranks third on the team.
- Isabel Royle has a 2.59 ERA over her last six appearances (three starts). Royle's six wins lead SLU.
- Anna Rolla has hit safely in four of her last six games (5-for-16, .313).
- Abby Mallo is tied for third in the nation with 39 walks, tying for second on SLU's all-time single-season list. The school record is 46.
- Mallo and Karsen Jany are tied for the team lead with 19 RBIs.
- Riley Nelson's three shutouts lead the A-10 and are tied for 40th in the nation.
Head coach Christy Connoyer
- Now in her 16th season at the helm, 2023 and 2025 A-10 Coach of the Year Christy Connoyer owns 403 Saint Louis victories. The Billikens' 95 wins from 2023 to 2025 are the most during a three-year span in program history.
- In addition to last year's A-10 Championship triumph and NCAA Tournament appearance, Connoyer guided the 2023 Billikens to the program's first regular-season conference title.
Scouting SEMO
- Ohio Valley Conference preseason favorite SEMO has won six of its last seven games, including two of three at OVC rival SIUE last weekend.
- SEMO's offensive leader is senior outfielder Madison Winkler, who tops the Redhawks' batting average (.343), hits (34), RBIs (21) and slugging percentage (.465) charts. Winkler was a 2025 first-team All-Conference selection.
- Junior infielder Kamden Hutton (.325), freshman catcher/infielder Lily Delmain (.316) and senior infielder Aubrie Shore (.299) also add punch to the SEMO attack.
- Senior right-hander Elliott Stinson, junior right-hander Maddie Carney and junior left-hander Willow Van Haren have three pitching victories apiece.
Scouting George Mason
- George Mason was picked to finish seventh in the 2026 A-10 standings after finishing seventh a year ago.
- The Patriots took a four-game winning streak, including a three-game sweep of A-10 opponent St. Bonaventure, into Tuesday's non-conference game at Towson.
- George Mason leads the A-10 in fielding percentage (.970), double plays (19), doubles (56), stolen bases (69), triples (10) and shutouts (seven, tied with SLU).
- Senior infielder Tess Altevers Harris and senior outfielder Elyssa DeRosa were selected to the 2025 All-Conference second team, while sophomore pitcher/utility Abbey Lane made the All-Rookie team.
- Altevers Harris leads the team in batting average (.384), hits (38), home runs (six), RBIs (24), doubles (12), slugging percentage (.727), on-base percentage (.500) and stolen bases (14). She leads the conference in doubles and ranks among the top three in every other listed category except RBIs and stolen bases.
- Senior catcher Logan Pickford carries a .327 batting average, five home runs and 19 RBIs; freshman first baseman/outfielder Maddie Lemasters has three homers, nine doubles and 19 RBIs; and junior infielder Kaleigh Friend bats .321.
- Lane paces the Patriots' pitching staff with a 9-5 record and a 2.82 ERA. She issues just 2.62 walks per seven innings. Freshman Alyssa Rangel has a 2.98 ERA and a .237 opponents' batting average and ranks sixth nationally with four saves. Freshman Bri Lencz is 5-2 with a 3.14 ERA.
